I just noticed that the titles of my first two posts are “island” and “Mary.” Lovely opportunity for a small tribute to one of my favorite poets.

Shakespeare’s moma was Mary Arden and the Tempest a play set
on an island, has many gorgeous variants of “island” but I don’t
guess you mean the Bard. No man is an island and if you look there

Hey you. I love this drawing, the old woman bending over so worshipful and bent –so spent and still there. Such a great variation on the annunciation. Great poem too. Didn’t know it.
